Culture has a heavy influence on all Japanese Martial Arts. Shinto and Buddhist practices play a big part in the everyday life of Japanese people so it’s only natural that their Martial Arts are governed the same way.

For those students looking deeper into their training at Kiyoshin Karate Association; we look at the relationship between Karate and the Japanese Language, Japanese history and Japanese etiquette.

Nihongo - Japanese Language. Nearly everything in Karate training is referred to in Japanese. We will help you understand the meaning of these terms and why we use them.

Reigi - Etiquette. From the second you walk in a Dojo to the second you leave it; Etiquette is practiced.
